Modern power distribution within a home or commercial building located in North America consists of LINE, NEUTRAL, and GROUND. The LINE wire is energized with the circuit voltage of 120V. The service entrance (where electricity is brought into a building) is connected to the main electrical panel, which is called the Circuit Board. A junction box is used for connecting or branching wires, and voltage is a measure of electrical potential. Electric power distribution is the final stage in the delivery of electricity. Electricity is carried from the transmission system to individual consumers. This system includes physical equipment as well as information, communications, and operational technologies.
